American Express is supporting the torture of beautiful orcas by maintaining its corporate partnership with SeaWorld -- but we can push them to end that support now.
Amex is swimming against the tide by sticking with SeaWorld. The momentum is on our side. After Blackfish's exposure of SeaWorld's cruel practices, entertainers have cancelled appearances, SeaWorld’s net income and revenue have fallen, and its stock has plummeted a whopping 44 percent.
There's growing pressure on companies to dissociate itself from SeaWorld. And if we're to capitalise on this pressure to push American Express to withdraw its support for SeaWorld, we must act now.
Tell American Express to stop supporting torture of orcas by ending its corporate partnership with SeaWorld now.
Since Blackfish, SeaWorld has been in the spotlight for holding orcas in captivity. Orcas are highly intelligent creatures that are used to roaming the seas -- yet for the sake of SeaWorld’s profits, orcas are imprisoned in small tanks and forced to perform unnatural tricks. This has even led to some orcas killing their trainers.
The pressure's working. Only a couple of months ago, Southwest Airlines ended its 26 year partnership with SeaWorld after 32,000 people demanded the airline company stop supporting animal cruelty. We can do the same with American Express. We've already had over 1.2 million of us stand together to support a bill in California to make the captivity of orcas illegal. If we come together with the same force, we can make sure that American Express does the right thing.
American Express -- help end cruelty to orcas by ending your partnership with SeaWorld.
