Then use our easy tool below to send an email to one of the automakers ranked and ask them to clean up their supply chain.
- Select which automaker you’d like to contact from the drop down menu. If you’re a car owner/driver, email the maker of your vehicle. If you’re not a car owner/driver you can choose any automaker to contact.
- Write your email. It doesn't have to be long for it to be impactful. Click on an automaker in the scorecard here to see the summary and key findings that you could mention in your email e.g. Ford's strong performance on the climate and environmental indicators was offset by a poor performance on human rights.
- Select your email provider and click "submit and send". Your own email provider will open with the draft email for you to send. Easy!
Personalised emails have the most impact. You could say something like:
- I love my Hyundai but I want to be buying from an automaker that takes its commitments to reducing emissions seriously. Next time I buy a car I’ll be referring to the Leaderboard report to see which automaker ranks the best.
- I’m researching which car I should buy for my family and want to buy from a company that cares about human rights. From the people working in factories putting together the cars to the people mining minerals and sourcing materials.
- I’m looking to buy a truly clean car right now. Not just an electric vehicle but a car that’s come from a fossil-free supply chain. The Leaderboard report shows how this company ranks compared to others and it could be doing a lot better.
