Three-year-old Kamila weighs just 5 kilograms (11 pounds). She’s too weak to even cry.
Kamila is just one of 1 million Afghan children under 5 who could die this year of starvation.
Since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan last year, billions of dollars of foreign development aid has dried up. Half the population is experiencing extreme hunger. Families have to make unimaginable decisions – selling their few remaining possessions and sometimes even their children – just to afford enough to eat.
It’s a humanitarian catastrophe.
There are amazing local groups working day and night to get food to those who desperately need it. But the need is so great they can’t keep up.
Thousands of donations right now could get food to those most vulnerable right away – and we don't have to wait for paperwork or approvals to do it. If we all chip in now we will save countless lives.
